Panorama and Sanctum memorial vaults
The Panorama and Sanctum memorial vaults at Thornhill Cemetery and Western Cemetery provide a dedicated space to hold and honour your loved one’s cremated remains.
[Please do not leave any flowers or personal mementos at either memorial, except in the vases that are provided. Any items will be removed and disposed of.]
Panorama memorial vault
Niche vaults can hold 2 caskets and are available to lease for an initial period of 20 years. Each niche also comes with a plaque that can be inscribed with your own message.
The price of each niche varies:
- Level 1: £1250
- Level 2: £1150
- Level 3: £1050
- Level 4: £950
At the end of the lease period, you will have the option to renew it. This will cost £135 for an additional 5-year lease period.
You can extend the lease in 5 or 10 year periods, for up to 100 years. You can extend the lease at any time.
It is your responsibility to renew the lease before it expires. If you do not renew, the cremated remains will be removed and scattered in a designated Garden of Remembrance, or may be removed your family.
You also have the option to keep the memorial plaque from the niche. If you do not claim it, we reserve the right to dispose of it.
Costs
When you lease the niche, you will get:
- an initial 20-year lease period,
- first placement of the cremated remains,
- a bronze flower vase, and
- a polished blue pearl granite plaque with 80 letters for an inscription.
If you wish to place more sets of remains in the niche, it will cost £100 per placement.
If you would like to extend your plaque inscription, each extra letter will be charged at £2. Your plaque may have a maximum of 259 letters and spaces. You also have the option for your inscription to be cut in silver or gold lettering. You can also add a design or photograph onto the plaque.
Photographs cost an extra £150 and have the option of a silver or gold frame.

Sanctum memorial vault
Niche vaults can hold 4 caskets and are available to lease for an initial period of 20 years. The cost of the niche is £1550 and comes with a plaque that can be inscribed with your own message.
At the end of the lease period, you will have the option to renew it. You can extend the lease in 5 or 10 year periods, for up to 100 years. This will cost £135 for an additional 5-year lease period. You can extend the lease at any time.
It is your responsibility to renew the lease before it expires. If you do not renew, the cremated remains will be removed and scattered in a designated Garden of Remembrance, or may be removed by your family.
You also have the option to keep the memorial plaque from the niche. If you do not claim it, we reserve the right to dispose of it.
